Jakarta, 17 August 2022 –During our interview with Dennis Nguyen, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Society Pass, who recently announced the acquisition of NusaTrip, an Indonesian online travel agency (OTA) that has been serving the local and Asian markets since 2013, we asked him what his first key actions will be in the coming months to compete with the region’s incumbent players.

Dennis Nguyen is a seasoned executive with 25 years of experience in business management, operations, technology, M&A, capital markets, finance, and legal in the US, EU, Greater China, Korea, ASEAN, and Middle Eastern markets. He graduated from UC Irvine, Nanjing University, University of Minnesota Law School, The Johns Hopkins University, and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His extensive experiences were gained through various yet relevant roles in M&A, capital markets, investment banking, and private equity, as well as in several foundations that focus on the health services, consumer/retail, environmental, natural resources sector, education, research, and public services.

Today, SoPa focuses on five key dominant countries in Southeast Asia: Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, which account for 575 million of the region’s 680 million people. The company expanded from 40-50 employees in December 2021 to over 200 today.
